Every year the global fashion industry produces over 92 million tons of textile waste, with nearly 85% of clothing ending up in landfills or incinerated. Much of what consumers donate with good intentions is ultimately exported overseas or discarded, contributing to environmental damage that affects our air, soil, and water systems.
Textile waste is now one of the fastest-growing environmental challenges worldwide. When garments break down in landfills, they release harmful chemicals and greenhouse gases, while synthetic fibers contribute to microplastic pollution that contaminates oceans and drinking water supplies. Through SCE Sustainable Industries, LLC and SCE Textile Recycling, we are working to bring a new solution to the United States, advanced textile recycling that converts discarded garments back into usable fibers for manufacturing.
This circular manufacturing model has already transformed communities in other parts of the world by creating sustainable textile supply chains and revitalizing local economies. By bringing this innovation to Detroit and other regions across the United States, we have the opportunity to:
• reduce textile waste at scale
• protect air, water, and soil from pollution
• create over 1,000 new jobs across recycling, logistics, and manufacturing
• train the next generation of workers for careers in the circular economy
We are currently in Phase One of seed funding and actively seeking partners, investors, and industry collaborators who want to help bring circular textile manufacturing to the United States.
Textile waste is one of the fastest growing environmental challenges in the world, but it also represents one of the largest untapped manufacturing opportunities, particularly in the realm of high-end couture. SCE Textile Recycling is actively working to address post-consumer waste by promoting circular textile manufacturing and job creation in the United States through various sustainability initiatives.

Beyond fashion design, our vision extends to building a state-of-the-art textile recycling facility that transforms discarded garments back into usable fiber. This circular process helps reduce landfill waste, remove harmful chemicals from textiles, and return recovered materials back into the manufacturing supply chain.
Planned for development in the United States, this facility represents a new model for circular sustainability and responsible manufacturing. By converting post-consumer and post-industrial textiles into reusable fiber, the plant will support the production of new garments while significantly reducing environmental impact.
The initiative also has the potential to create thousands of jobs across recycling, advanced manufacturing, logistics, and material innovation, while establishing workforce training programs that prepare the next generation for careers in the circular economy.
We are currently in Phase One of seed funding, building partnerships and educating stakeholders about the future of textile recycling and circular fashion.
