T-waste Recycling Coming to Detroit

Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world, but we’re changing the narrative right here in Detroit. Inspired by Prato, Italy—a small town renowned for turning textile scraps into high-quality knitwear and wool—La’ Merde Textile Recycling focused on providing an ecofriendly state-of-the-art textile recycling process transforming discarded garments into high-end garments, coffee filters, foam cushions and healthcare paper goods, as a recycled supplier.

Projected to launch Q4 2025 - Textile Recycling Plant

Beyond apparel, we are establishing a state-of-the-art textile recycling plant, set to open in Q4 2025. This facility will focus on reducing waste by removing harmful chemicals and shredding textiles. Our recycled materials will be sold back to manufacturers to create new garments, generating sustainable manufacturing jobs in our community. Additionally, our educational initiatives will empower students and future artists to blend creativity with environmental responsibility, fostering a new generation of mindful creators.
