La’ Merde Designs was founded with a vision to reimagine fashion through creativity, responsibility, and innovation. What began to honor the creative legacy of my mother, Stella Edwards, a talented fashion designer whose love for craftsmanship and design continues to inspire this work today.  has grown into a broader mission focused on circular sustainability, environmental responsibility, and community awareness. 

The fashion industry contributes over 90% of global textile waste, which can impact air quality, water systems, and soil when materials end up in landfills both in the United States and around the world. 

Through circular design, responsible sourcing, and textile recycling innovation, our work aims to help reduce environmental impact while supporting the growth of sustainable manufacturing.

This vision also supports the opportunity to bring new manufacturing jobs and workforce development opportunities back to the United States, while educating communities about the role we all play in building a more responsible fashion industry.
